Beaks Don't Like Leeks

from 'gardening with kids - growing vegetables' by Amy Chambers

  1. I like the look of your woodpigeon, you've managed to capture their rather waddling yet stately walk!

I had terrible trouble with them and my sedum roof back in London...they adored it.

  2. Wood pigeons are quite pretty birds, thought also comical, there bodies seeming too big for them to handle, but they are also masters of destruction and not easily deterred from there mischief. I used to think a bit of loose netting casually applied would suffice but their intelligence seems to grow in proportion to the brassica based calories they consume. In short they're very beastly birds!
