  1. Lovely drawings - looks like spring has arrived in your sketchbook allotment! How is it with the real one?

    1. Thank you Caro, but spring has not arrived in my sketchbooks or on the actual plot. I found these two old drawings in my archives and thought I'd give them an airing. I visited the allotment last weekend to attend an important meeting about wether or not there should be a refreshment facility (we were not allowed to describe it as a cafe) available on the site. Strange and interesting to see the passions that such a radical suggestion aroused!

    2. I think "refreshments" on site sounds very appealing - a cup of tea is what sustains you through the digging! I'm lucky in being able to pop back home, just round the corner, for a pit stop.
Hope you've been enjoying the little glimpse of spring over Easter, glorious to be outside despite the cold wind!

    3. you are very lucky to live close to your plot, I'm a short drive away but I think the ideal distance is a short walk so you can collect some fresh veg as you need it and do a bit of weeding with out going to the allotment having to be a big deal. And while on the subject of ideal scenarios, maybe there could be regular bus services to local allotments, (a bit like those ones to sainsburys) but that would only work in a world were growing your own is as practical and as popular as going to the supermarket. In reality hough how far should we go to making allotments more popular. The refeshments option is I think a good one but I went to do some digging yesterday and found the site very empty. Except for some noisy crows and the odd woodpecker everything was quiet and peaceful. and for London thats special.

  2. The second one looks a bit like the manure pile I've got going on - it's been so cold the cows have been inside a lot. The colours are a nice reminder that ONE day thngs will change...or maybe we're going into the next iceage...

    1. I think a lot of people are thinking ice age thoughts at the moment. If it does come at least cornwall might miss being covered by a glacier although that would mean everyone in the british isles will want to live there, best to declare independence now just incase.
