That one reminds me of Harry Potter! Nic couldn't seem to post but liked your poetic restraint (an expletive sprang to mind when she saw your usual gardening foe - ours is pigeons, though slugs are disgusting and don't seem to serve any purpose)
Hello George, interesting you mentioned Harry Potter, but the idea for using 'Begone' came from reading the original victorian Frankenstein, where the word is often used to try (unsuccessfully) to dispel the monster or in my case monsters.
Hi Greg, oh these are wonderful drawings. Have you seen 'Up' an animation ? In that there is one word that galvinises all the dogs to action. "Squirrel!' My two dogs are primed for that word and I think our local squirrels have learnt their name too. They planted loads of hazelnuts round the garden last year and so I have a surfeit of baby trees being nursed in pots. Best wishes Joanna
Hello Joanna, I would like to borrow your dogs, I'm sure they would be a much more effective squirrel deterrent than me. Your blog is also very effective, its made me feel very hungary!
