I write this in retrospect as looking at my drawing now I don't think I captured the true quality of light on this day. This is really a question of defining the nature of day light in february and how the sun heralds spring by having the audacity to appear in this most gloomy of months. For the first time this year I associated sunlight with warmth and remembered how the sun also brings delicate almost imperceptible smells up from the soil, making the air itself spring to life.
At last spring flowers
